Instructions

Prepare oven and pan
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and lightly flour a cake pan. -
Mix dry ingredients
Sift together flour and baking powder to ensure a light cake. -
Cream butter and sugar
Beat butter and sugar until light and creamy. -
Add eggs and vanilla
Add eggs one by one, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. -
Combine with dry ingredients and milk
Gradually add flour and milk, mixing gently until smooth. -
Highlight the cherry jam
Pour half of the batter into the pan, add our pure cherry jam, then cover with remaining batter.
Optional: drizzle some jam on top for a beautiful finish. -
Bake the cake
Bake 35–40 minutes. Insert a toothpick in the center—if it comes out clean, the cake is done. -
Cool and serve
Let the cake cool slightly. Optionally dust with powdered sugar before serving.
