Delicious Persian Baghali Polo with Our Canned Fava Beans

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • Rice: 300 g

  • Fresh or our canned fava beans: 150 g

  • Oil or butter: 3 tbsp

  • Saffron (brewed): 2 tbsp

  • Salt: to taste

  • Dill (optional): 1 tbsp


Instructions

  1. Prepare the rice
    Wash rice and soak in water with a pinch of salt for 30 minutes.

  2. Cook the fava beans
    If using our canned fava beans, drain and set aside.

  3. Cook the rice
    Boil water and cook rice (either by draining method or steaming).

  4. Combine rice and fava beans
    Mix semi-cooked rice with fava beans. Add a little oil or butter and brewed saffron.

  5. Steam
    Place the mixture in a pot and steam on low heat for 20–30 minutes to let the flavors blend.

  6. Serve
    Garnish with dill or saffron and serve. Each bite delivers the real flavor of our fresh canned fava beans!
